Exclusive Interview with Abstract VT

In April 2025, I joined Abbey BK, host of Abstract VT, a radio show and podcast that uplifts Vermont creatives. During this episode, we discussed my semester abroad in New Zealand as well as my album Moving Parts, and my (then) upcoming move to Denmark post-graduation.

Moving Parts (2025)

01: Highway 72
02: Winter
03: Ugyanaz a Mese
04: Highway 72 (Reprise)

About Moving Parts

Moving Parts is an acoustic folk album that explores how different physical environments introduce new fragments of one’s personality. It tells the story of wanderlust driving in the backroads of New Zealand, then facing the brutal Vermont winters, and finally finding new hope in spring and looking forward to a new city once again. Each instrument is recorded live in the Champlain College sound studio, using different microphone staging techniques to capture a clean stereo image. Moving Parts was featured in the Champlain College Art Gallery as a part of the Creative Media Senior Capstone exhibition, “Desire Paths.”

On Lake Champlain (2025)

About On Lake Champlain

In March 2025, the Champlain College Art Gallery hosted a show called “Possibilities.” The featured works were inspired by a musical arrangement called “On Lake Champlain,” originally written in 1916 by Alfred Bryan and Albert Gumble. For the show, I transcribed the piano arrangement and sang the song exactly as it appears in the sheet music. The track you hear is one of only five existing recordings of “On Lake Champlain.” Three recordings were made by the original artists, and one was a version made by two audio professors.

Carnotaur, Darling” (2024)

About “Carnotaur, Darling

“Carnotaur, Darling,” also known as “Carnotaur Scored (no he didn’t),” is a reworked film score from the Apple TV show Prehistoric Planet, a nature documentary narrated by David Attenborough. As a project for a class called “Synthesis and Sound Design”, I created a new, more upbeat soundtrack to this Carnotaurus mating dance scene.

Episode on hemp fabrics and clothing
Short promo

During my semester in New Zealand, I created a five-minute podcast episode and a promo piece of a hypothetical podcast series. Stemming from a fascination in cannabis history and science, I decided to write an informational episode on the uses and strengths of industrial hemp, focusing especially on its role in the fight against climate change.

Quotes from Champlain College Professors

‘Like You Are To Me’

is the best song recorded

at Champlain College.

“In just an hour, they had everything miked, tested, leveled, and ready to go. They dealt with complex routing in no time flat. The grab was perfect- enough signal during the quiet parts, but absolutely no clipping in the hot parts. I don’t know how they did it. But they did it quickly and with a smile. My guys were deeply impressed with their professionalism and positive attitude and so was I.”

“[Golden Again is] intense and beautiful, heartbreaking and breathless, full of both reality and skyward longing. Music should be of the heart, and these [songs] are of the heart.”
